Schedule Change

Good Morning Everyone,

We would like to inform you all, that we will no longer have the Kindergarten Sing a long Monday mornings. Therefore the morning routine will be the usual drop off as the other days!
Our sing a long will now be Thursday Mornings from 9:30-10:30, but this shouldn't effect morning drop off.

Hello everyone,

We had another busy week in Kindergarten! 
We made a giant Humpty Dumpty, a fluffy Baa Baa Black Sheep and so many Incy Wincy Spiders that you will see hanging around. The children had an introduction to the IPADS, trying out different things to do. We read Dr. Seuss Hop on Pop, and had so much fun listening to all the rhyming words! 

On Monday we had our first Kinder Activities. You may have heard your child tell you about the Butterflies, Tigers or Dolphins, these are our 3 groups for our Monday Activities. There is a art activity, a math activity and a music and movement activity that each group will do on a rotation system. The children had fun mixing with other friends new and old from the other classes!

Each class is now learning a new Nursery Rhyme and your child will be bringing the reading package at home, if they haven't already. Please read it over together, in English or your own Mother Tongue, to get him or her singing! Don't forget, you can act it out and add a few props.. Let your imaginations run wild! 

The Autumn BBQ is coming up in a weeks time, Saturday the 29th of September, rain or shine. Also next week there will be an English book sale too, we will send out more information before hand.

Parent Meeting Sept 12, 2012

Dear All, 

We would like to thank all the parents who came to the Parent Meeting today, we hope you left the meeting feeling informed and confident about this new school year!

The teachers are excited and looking forward to watching and embracing your children as they grow and learn! 

Please remember these few, but very important points:

• LABEL YOUR CHILD'S CLOTHES- that way they will have a better chance of getting back to you!
• BUS CHANGES TO MS. GIGI  BEFORE 12:00 NOON
• IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS PLEASE CONTACT YOUR CLASS TEACHERS AS A FIRST STEP- we are confident that any concerns can be resolved amongst ourselves

Welcome to the Kindergarten Blog for the 2012-2013 school year!

Dear Parents,

We are now into the second week of school and the children are feeling more settled and getting to know our new routines! This blog will be used for all 3 Kindergartens throughout the school year! We will upload photos, videos and information about what the children are doing and or what we will be doing.

Today we have started our first Unit of Inquiry- Nursery Rhymes. Not only will we be learning various Nursery Rhymes we will be looking at rhythm and rhyme in other areas too!
For the first week Kinder JL will be learning about Humpty Dumpty, Kinder A Baa Baa Black Sheep and Kinder B Insey Wincy Spider.

To start off our Unit of Inquiry, we had a very special guest come to visit today! Ms. Josie came and performed a beautiful Flamenco dance for the children- showing us how rhythm can be used in dance too.
