The first one said, “It’s getting rather late.”
The second one said, “I’m ready for some fun.”
The third one said, “Let’s run and run and run.”
The fourth one said, “There are witches in the air!”
The fifth one said, “But we don’t care!”
“OOOO!!” Went the wind, and out went the light.
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight!

Monsters short, monsters tall! Monsters
playing basketball.
Monsters green, monsters, red, Monsters
standing on their heads.
Monsters bad, monsters cute, Monsters
in their bathing suit.
Monsters trying to comb their hair, Monsters
in their underwear!
*It’s monster day,
hip-hip-hooray! And as they pass, you can hear them say:
Ugga-bugga wugga! Uga bugga boo! Brrrrrrh!
Scoobeedoobeedoo.
Ugga-bugga wugga! Uga bugga boo! Monsters may be ugly,
But monsters need love too!
Monsters brave, monsters shy, Monsters eating pumpkin pie.
Monsters fast, monsters slow.
Monsters playing tic-tac-toe.
Monsters happy, monsters sad, Monsters grabbing, monsters
glad!
Monsters having lots of fun. Monsters
chewing bubble gum. *
THE OLD LADY
There was an old lady all skin
and bones. Ooooooooo!
One night she thought she’d take
a walk. Ooooooooo
She walked down to the old graveyard. Ooooooooo
She saw the bones a-lying around. Ooooooooo
She thought she ought to sweep them up. Ooooooooo
She went to the closet to get a broom. Ooooooooo
She went to the door and ………… Boo!

Have you seen the ghost of John?
Long white bones with the skin all gone!

WHEN WITCHES WERE WALTZING
One night I went wandering out into the wood.
I felt I had wondered much more than I should,
For I came to a meadow, a magical spot,
Where witches were waltzing, I never forgot *
*What a wild and weird and wonderful sight,
when witches were waltzing on Halloween night!
I wanted to watch, so I hid in a tree.
I said to myself, “Can’t believe what I see!”
It’s a Skeleton Samba, a Monster Minuet,
A Pumpkin Polka, a Goblin Gavotte!
And witches were waltzing,
I never forgot! *
They waltzed in the moon by the light of the stars.
The scarecrow was strumming her ghostly guitar
With the Skeleton Samba, the Monster Minuet,
The Pumpkin Polka, the Goblin Gavotte,
And witches were waltzing, I never forgot. *
Some night you’ll wake up in a wandering mood.
The west wind will whisper, “Away to the wood.”
And you will come with me, we’ll all take a chance,
We’ll go there together and join in the dance!
