THE OLD LADY
There was an old lady all skin
and bones. Ooooooooo!
One night she thought she’d take

She walked down to the old graveyard. Ooooooooo
She saw the bones a-lying around. Ooooooooo
She thought she ought to sweep them up. Ooooooooo
She went to the closet to get a broom. Ooooooooo

The Ghost of John
Have you seen the ghost of John?
Long white bones with the skin all gone!

Wouldn’t it be chilly with no skin on?
WHEN WITCHES WERE WALTZING
One night I went wandering out into the wood.
I felt I had wondered much more than I should,
For I came to a meadow, a magical spot,
Where witches were waltzing, I never forgot *
*What a wild and weird and wonderful sight,
when witches were waltzing on Halloween night!
I wanted to watch, so I hid in a tree.
I said to myself, “Can’t believe what I see!”
It’s a Skeleton Samba, a Monster Minuet,
A Pumpkin Polka, a Goblin Gavotte!
And witches were waltzing,
I never forgot! *
They waltzed in the moon by the light of the stars.
The scarecrow was strumming her ghostly guitar
With the Skeleton Samba, the Monster Minuet,
The Pumpkin Polka, the Goblin Gavotte,
And witches were waltzing, I never forgot. *
Some night you’ll wake up in a wandering mood.
The west wind will whisper, “Away to the wood.”
And you will come with me, we’ll all take a chance,
We’ll go there together and join in the dance!
